This is my jamb story… ! Because I was a victim and I am still a victim as I type this.. I was suppose to write my jamb exam On the 13th of march by 6:am .. I got there like every other student .. Anxious, nervous, and desperate.. On getting to my Exam centre to my greatest surprised I was told that Jamb has cancelled the Centre #COMMAND SECONDARY SCHOOL, iPaja due to poor server and other related crisis..
Can u imagine?? No notifications, no alerts what so ever from jamb.. GOsh!!! We the candidates stood there confused, shattered and depressed.. We waited from 6am to 10am before we were told to go to another centre at #agege #ojota road.. How did they expect us to transport ourselves that far?? With the help of friends we managed to co-operate and later we landed at the centre we were directed to go to #WAEC #Headquarters.
We waited from 11am all the way to 3pm outside in the sun.. Later it started drizzling, it was then they allowed us come inside the building in our great number.. We were parked like a processed sardine in a hall were we waited and waited ..
At about 5pm a jamb official came in and said “We are very sorry but your Exams won’t be holding today, go home and come back tomorrow at around 2pm” actually I thought I didn’t hear him clearly until he repeated it .. Oh my God!! we went home came back the Next day at that time.. The Exam was according to batches upon Batches upon Batches all the way from 2pm we waited rather patiently Until 9pm. When it was our turn.. Tired. Sleepy and hungry we went into the
Examination hall. did the Exam and finished around 12am (midnight) .. Who could go home by that ungodly hour??? The answer is NO ONE!!! We all slept in the hall including some parents who came with their kids…Just when we were beginning to think it was OVER, A blow came landing on our Faces again, as I type this with my cellular device, No one from my Centre has seen his or her results Sometimes I find it difficult to define what the Nigerian government term as Future leaders.
If this issue is not properly followed the hopes of many students getting into higher institution this year will be swept under the carpet, We are willing to go to school and acquire education but the government and the respective organisation in charge is not willing to make us fulfill that dream..
On behalf of all those who have not seen their results I sAY #Jambreleaseourresult. Lets use this hashtag (#Jambreleaseourresult) to make our voices heard nationwide.and don,t forget to share this story with friends.
