Bwari (FCT) April 24, 2013 (NAN) The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said in Abuja on Wednesday that 209 foreign candidates were among those who would sit for the examination this year.
Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, the Registrar of JAMB, announced this at a news conference in Bwari, Abuja.
“The examination will hold simultaneously in 378 examination towns in Nigeria and six foreign centres.
“The countries are Ghana, Cameroon, Republic of Benin, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and South Africa,“ he said.
Ojerinde said the examinations would take place in the Nigerian embassies in the six countries, assuring that arrangements had been made in the centres on how to conduct the test.
He said 143 candidates in Cameroon and 30 in Benin Republic would sit for the Paper Pencil Test (PPT) while seven in Ghana, seven in South Africa, eight in Saudi Arabia and 10 in United Kingdom would sit for the Computer Based Test (CBT).
The registrar assured that PPT and Dual Based Test (DBT) questions would be different from CBT questions because of the difference in the dates of the examinations to avoid malpractice.
“One of the problems in the conduct of the examinations has been the unwholesome activities of some officials who encouraged malpractice,“ he stressed.
Ojerinde appealed to supervisors and invigilators to study the rules guiding the conduct of the examination in the manual given to them for a hitch-free examination. (NAN)
